Email Notification Policy

CatchSignal rules, privacy, and account information.

Effective August 17, 2026 · Last updated August 17, 2026

CatchSignal sends account and community emails needed to operate features you request.

Types of email

  • Account email: verification, security, password, moderation, export, or account-status messages.
  • Follow notifications: instant notices when an approved public catch is posted by an angler or at a waterbody you follow.
  • Optional updates: rewards, milestones, announcements, or other preferences you enable.

Your controls

You can independently disable followed-angler and followed-waterbody emails in Settings. A user who follows both the angler and waterbody should receive one catch email, not two. Essential account or security messages may still be sent when necessary.

Privacy and delivery

Messages use the public Viewable Name or Private Angler as appropriate and do not include private catch coordinates. Recipients are addressed individually. Email service providers may process the recipient address and delivery metadata solely to transmit and troubleshoot messages.

Timing

“Instant” means CatchSignal queues the message promptly after a catch becomes publicly approved. Actual delivery depends on WordPress scheduling, hosting, SMTP service, recipient systems, and network conditions.

Problems

Check spam folders and account settings first. Delivery questions may be sent to gary@fishynw.com.
